Equipment

  • Blender
  • Linen towel, T-shirt, or nut-milk bag
  • large bowl
  • Container to store in the fridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups ice cold water

Optional add-ins

  • 1 tablespoon mapple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 pitted date

Instructions

  • Combine the oats and water in a blender and mix for 20 - 30 seconds. Don't over-blend because the heat from the friction can cause the milk to become slimy.
  • Gently strain the mixture into a large bowl. I recommend doing this twice to remove all the sediment.
  • Store the milk in a container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or until you notice an off smell.
